"You can preach a better sermon with your life than with your lips." Oliver Goldsmith

Steve Best spoke this morning and one thing he said really caught my attention. He said something along these lines, that we can't be a people that are saying one thing to God and then be living something totally different. I think thats such a good point and something to be remembered, and this is where the saying from Oliver Goldsmith comes in, "You can preach a better sermon with your life than with your lips". God hasn't called us to be a people that just "talks the talk", it says " For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power." 1 corinthians 3:20. We (which includes me) need to constently be checking if how we are SAYING we are living our lives is really how we are living them! That way we won't fall into the trap of "talking it, but not walking it". God has called us and the way we live to be an example to the world, not just our words. Anyone can talk it, but the challenge is to not only talk it, but to walk it as well!! Its not easy, but our God will "never leave us nor forsake us". So i challenge you and my self, if there are any areas of our lives that we our saying something and not doing it, STOP saying what you're not doing and do what you're saying!

"The greatest discovery of any generation is that a human being can alter his life by altering his attitude." William James

Our attitude is so important, it can literally change our lives. In these last couple of weeks I have been thinking alot about my confession, and my attitude. I dont think that we fully understand how much "power" there is in our confession, and in our attitude. A right attitude can change the day, and the right confession can change a situation! I think the most important thing is to be AWARE of your confession and attitude!! Many times we dont even think about the way we say things, or how our attitude is like. By being aware of that, we can change the confession and attitute thats not building up, and thats not bringing life. If we do that, we will really see a change in our lives. So with changing your attitude and confession, you will change your life, and bring life to those around you!

"We never rise above our confession...Our confession imprisons us if it is negative, or sets us free if it is positive." F.F Bosworth

It is very true that your confession if negative, can imprison you and, if POSITIVE, can SET YOU FREE. It is so important for us as a generation who long to see the kingdom of God come in power to remember and act on this every day!! I think that our generation has to get used to checking whether what we are saying is positive and will set free, or negative and can imprison! Think about the consequences that a negative confession can have on your life and the lives around you! Now think about the life bringing positive confession and how it brings life to every one that hears it! Now, changing your confession is hard work, and it doesn't just happen over night, trust me, but if we truly want to be the generation that impacts this world and sees the kingdom of God advance and come in power, we really need to see a change in how we speak and the confession we bring to each and every circumstance! So I leave you with this - if your confession is negative and will imprison, I challenge you to make the choice to leave your imprisoning words behind you and walk on to freedom!!
